Winter Weekend 2024 (Helvellyn)

6th - 8th December 2024

Join us this December as we take you on our winter weekend 2024! This weekend is for those who have joined us over the year and want to celebrate in style. Full of fun and laughs throughout the weekend with hiking, paddling and of course a good old christmas dinner too.

Accommodation: We are using the YHA at Helvellyn of which we've rented the entire thing! This is exclusive use for Second Life Outdoors and we will be the only ones there. The rooms are dorm style and all will be same sex unless otherwise discussed (We may have spare rooms for couples etc or groups of friends)

Itinerary:

Friday night (6th December) - Arrival

Check in will be from 4pm. The evening will then just be social, we may do a short hike into Glenridding, meet up before for a paddle on Ullswater. Just whatever takes peoples fancy! Dinner is of course included this night and will be served at 7:30pm

Saturday (7th December) - Hike, paddle, christmas dinner! 

Today there will be a couple of options for today, the winter weekend is all about choice and enjoying the lakes how you see best! We will be heading up to summit Helvellyn for those of you wanting a decent hike out, along with the option of winter paddle boarding for those wanting a splash and of course a smaller hike too for anyone wanting a more chilled day. All finished with a christmas dinner and christmas games too!!

Sunday (8th December) - Head home

Checkout is 10:00am from the hostel and we'll depart and head ways. However sometimes people may hike etc on this day and it's normally organised closer to the time.
