Day one - Arrive in Iceland and Head to Western Fjords
Landing into Keflavik Airport in the morning we will head North passing through the capital city of Reykjavik and heading for Icelandic wilderness and the Western Fjords, one of our longer travel days but well worth it, even stopping at a local geothermal pool along route and seeing many sites on the way. We finish the day in the remote town of Djupavik where we will base for the next two nights in a beautiful local run hotel.
Day Two - Iceland's Northern most hot spring
oday is a day for exploration, heading to the most Northern hot spring in the whole of Iceland… Krossenlaug is not a place many tourists ever see or venture to. We will also be completing a 4-5 hour Icelandic mountain hike along the way which would be equivalent to something you’d find in the Lake District in terms of difficulty.
Day Three - Deeper into the Western Fjords
The adventure continues! Today we head deeper into the Western fjords with Isafjordur being the destination, along the way we have many sites to see and even a coastal hot pool too. This day will really show the breath of the landscape in this area of the world. Ending the day at a large private house deep in a glacial valley.
Day Four - Whale Watching
It’s time to Whale watch, today we head into Isafjordur where we head out onto the ocean in search of whales, specifically humpback whales! This for many is a once in a lifetime experience and cannot be understated how amazing it truly is to be up close with these majestic creatures. The afternoon will follow with more local exploration and site seeing and a small hike too.
Day Five - Exploring the Southern Fjords
On the move once more we really push into the remote with a stop at Rauðisandur beach, one of the most picturesque places on the planet and one of the few red sand beaches in Iceland. We also stop for unique coastal hot springs and many waterfalls too, truly a day of non stop jaw dropping moments throughout. Finished at a private residence with a hot tub overlooking the Icelandic coastline
Day Six - Head to Reykjavik
We’re nearing the end of this epic trip and would like to finish by heading into the capital city itself for adventurers to have some free time and enjoy this unique city. Staying at a central accommodation with ample room and great access.
Day Seven - Back to the UK
Today we fly home to the UK, with full transfers and flights sorted for you
